Welcome to FanloreProject:Baldur's Gate!

This project was created because there is so much fan activity around Baldur's Gate 3 and not enough documentation of this great fandom on Fanlore! We need to get organized and make it easy for new editors to find a place to dive in. You can contact us via this page's talk page or by joining the Fanlore Discord server.

Feel welcome to add stuff to this page just to brainstorm, scratch out ideas, make stubs, add redlinks and so on! Let's be enthusiastic and share that enthusiasm with others!

Scope

The scope of this project is anything and everything related to Baldur's Gate, with a particular focus around the active and exciting fandom surrounding Baldur's Gate III, including the following categories:

Regarding any other categories/subcategories we'd want to make - Challenges, Zines, Fics, Actor fandom, and so on - please add those to this list as we make them!

Where to start

If you want to just start editing, some places to start would be fleshing out character pages, relationship pages, and adding famous fanwork and fan examples. Some places to find pages in need of help or creation:

Organisation and content-wise, we should establish a way to organise actor-fandom interactions, memes, and meta, as well as any controversies. We're also light on Baldur's Gate fanfiction in general. Brainstorming below. We are still in the process of figuring out what we want - discussions can happen here, on relevant talk pages, or in the Fanlore discord server!

We will hopefully:

  • Create stubs with extremely reckless abandon.
  • Remember to create redirects.
  • Summarize any important Discord conversations on the relevant talk page(s).
  • Not only keep PPOV in mind but also actively go in search of new opinions in new places.

Some things to keep in mind

  • Information for new editors can be found in our New Visitor Portal. Among other things, it explains how to make an account, how to start a new page, and includes a lot of other helpful information.
  • Discussion on this project's Talk page is encouraged, as is discussion on individual article Talk pages.
  • All edits, whether big, tiny, or in-between, are welcome.
  • You don't have to be an "expert" on a subject. Adding what you know and feel passionate about are pieces of the puzzle, and ones that hopefully inspire others to expand on the topic.
  • All typos, mistakes, and errors are easily corrected. Don't let perfection hobble you.
  • Remember that Fanlore, like all wikis, is a collaborative effort, and may be edited by anyone.
  • Pages are not "owned" or controlled by any single person or group of people.
  • Pages and the information on them are only as robust, encompassing, and accurate as the information added by interested and enthusiastic fans like you.
  • Fanlore practices and encourages a Fanlore:Plural Point of View.
