Tobi x Deidara or Obito x Deidara is a slash pairing between Uchiha Obito and Deidara from Naruto. The name of the pairing is often shortened to Tobidei (which refers to Obito's goofy fake persona) or Obidei (which refers to Obito himself). As both names are only a letter apart, T/Obidei is also used frequently to refer to this pairing, though some fans don't like it as the slash is not recognized by search engines and some tag systems. It also used to be refered to as Madadei until the real Uchiha Madara appeared. Even though nowadays Madadei refers to a completely different crackship, some old Tobidei fanworks can still be found tagged as Madadei.
The ship has undergone a series of changes in their dynamics as more canon information about Tobi was revealed over the years. Its existence can be divided into three different periods.
