Destiny's Embrace is a zine dedicated to the character Kairi from Kingdom Hearts. This is the second volume of Kairi-themed zines by kairizine.

About

A second installment of zines created by kairizine was teased on January 23, 2022, and a full schedule was posted on May 9, 2022. This time, the zine would follow the theme of flowers, wherein each piece would feature a flower and its meaning in relation to Kairi, the central characer. The zine would be general and contain any romantic ships.

Applications for artists, merch artists, and writers opened on October 1, 2022, and would run to the end of the month. A total of 219 applications were reported to have been submitted. On October 14, 2022, the mods announced that their writing mod would be stepping down due to health reasons and quickly announced a replacement. Application results were sent by email on November 10, 2022.

Preorders opened on March 28, 2023, with the following pricing tiers:

• Golden Vines ($25 USD) - Physical Zine
• Floral Edge ($35 USD) - Physical Zine, Die-cut Sticker, Miniprint, Double-sided bookmark, Sticker Sheet
• Bellflower Blade ($47 USD) - Physical Zine, Double-sided Glitter Charm, Enamel Pin, Circle Button, Die-Cut Sticker, Miniprint, Double-sided Bookmark, Sticker Sheet
• Crystal Lotus ($60 USD) - Physical Zine, Double-sided Glitter Charm, Enamel Pin, Circle Button, Die-Cut Sticker, Miniprint, Double-sided Bookmark, Sticker Sheet, Acrylic Standee, Tote Bag, Shaker Charm

The Crystal Lotus bundle was noted to be limited to only 100 copies available for purchase. An additional 100 copies were added to the store on April 5, 2023. A giveaway was hosted from April 7 to April 10, 2023, for a Crystal Lotus bundle, and the winner was Twitter user Tissue_Paper_4. The store closed for preorders on April 28, 2023.

Throughout production period, the mod team posted a constantly updated spreadsheet of merch items and posted regular photos of newly arrived merch on social media. Packing was completed on September 4, 2023, and all physical bundles were mailed out by September 5th. Digital bundles were sent out on September 19th.

Leftover sales opened on September 26, 2023, and closed on October 27, 2023. The zine was announced complete on November 6, 2023, with a post from the mod team expressing thanks to all the fans who supported or contributed to the project.
