ddfic was a mailing list supporting the creation of Duran Duran fanfiction and other fanworks of all types, including het and slash. At its peak, the group had [how many?] users, and saw 100 to 200 posts a month, with lively discussions of works in progress as they were posted.
The list was created by Tina L. in June 1998 at OneList, which was absorbed into eGroups and then Yahoo Groups by 2000. Posted works were archived with permission at The Lovely Blue Planet of There or at the creator's own websites, and many were featured in the UMF fanzine.
List activity began tapering off in 2006 with the rise of other forms of social media, and various other factors; it had gone largely dormant by 2008.

A non-judgmental place for Duranies of all eras to share, discuss and critique not only Duran-inspired fiction, but also art, poetry and music. This restricted list is managed by Tina L. of The Lovely Blue Planet of There. Member access-only archives are being maintained as of July, 1999. Users are encouraged to share their works in progress on the list, and to permanently share their finished work on the numerous creativity sites which participate in this list.
