Some Excerpts

I actually fell into the Supernatural fandom by accident, if you can believe it. I’m not a television watcher, and don’t have a cable hook up or anything of the sort. (I’m more of a movie fan) So I hadn’t even heard about this show until the first two season box sets were brought over by a friend of mine and forced upon my unwilling roommate. I had no real interest up until the point that I happened to overhear some of the dialogue from another room and then also caught sight of the eyecandy onscreen. I happen to be a –very- overzealous nerd when it comes to both religion and mythology, so the fact that there was a television show that was actually researching these things correctly, caught my attention right off the bat. (plus the eyecandy helped) That, and I’m also a sucker for angst and strife, in-depth and twisted storylines that work around broken yet loving families. Especially siblings. Thus, I was hooked.

Normally, I’m not usually one to jump straight into drawing characters from a live action fandom. I have a tendency to be overly critical of my work, especially when it doesn’t come out looking like the characters on screen. Once I found a few other artists who were drawing The Boys, however, I was able to push past that fear and have been loving it ever since. I’m not a Wincest fan (I have an older and a younger brother, so no) But have been known to dabble in slash here and there. I draw from inspiration, whether it be stupid jokes or simply out of fond respect for certain characters. A lot of the jokes come from random conversations with friends and other fans. I’m a Dean girl at heart, but still remain to curse profusely at him whenever I have to draw his hair. Sam’s is just so much easier, and I loves me some curls. All of the artwork I have done and posted online can be found in my memories here. Which is updated every time I upload something new. (if it’s out of order, just check the dates)

The highlight of drawing characters from Supernatural was being able to give my artwork recently to a few of the actors themselves at the 2008 Eyecon in September, where they were surprisingly well received. I also had a few of them sign a picture that I had done simply for that purpose, the (long-winded) account of which can be found here if you’re really that bored.
