"Addiction" is a Forever Knight story by Imajiru, originally posted to FKFIC-L, and later archived on www.fkfanfic.com and the author's personal website.
As he contemplates a glass of blood, Nick has an internal dialogue with a "Natalie-voice" that berates him for his failure to stop drinking blood. As in the episode "Feeding the Beast", Nick's need for blood is compared to an addiction, with comparable excuses regarding his need for it today, and intention to stop tomorrow.
In the original text format, double slashes set off the "Natalie-voice"; but, in the web-coded version on Imajiru's site, italics are substituted.
