Wanderlust: A JJK Travel Zine is a for-profit zine featuring characters from Jujutsu Kaisen. The theme of this project is worldwide travel.

About

The project was announced with an interest check running from April 15 to May 15, 2021. The project established that it would only feature safe for work, canon-verse, spoiler-free, and gen-only content [1]. Potential contributors could apply to be part of the zine from May 24 to June 21, 2022. Over this time, the social media account introduced their guest artists and writers. Upon closing applications, the project reported that 220 applications were received [2] and sent out acceptance emails on July 3, 2021 [3]. Over the time set aside for selected contributors to work on their pieces, the social media account regularly posted spotlights of each contributor and what they would make for the project.

When the project first began, the project was tentatively called JJK Travel Zine during the application period. As voted by the team and contributors, the title of the zine was announced on July 20, 2021 to be Wanderlust: A JJK Travel Zine [4].

Preorders opened on October 11, 2021 with the following pricing tiers:

  • Wayfarer ($10 USD) - Digital Zine, Emotes
  • Globe Trotter ($20 USD) - Digital Zine, Emotes, Physical Zine, Foil Cover Upgrade Stretch Goal
  • Road Trip ($30 USD) - Digital Zine, Emotes, Physical Zine, Random Postcards, Sticker Sheet, Foil Cover Upgrade Stretch Goal
  • First Class ($45 USD) - Digital Zine, Emotes, Physical Zine, Postcards, Sticker Sheet, Acrylic Charm, All Stretch Goals
  • All-Inclusive ($55 USD) - Digital Zine, Emotes, Physical Zine, Postcards, Sticker Sheet, Acrylic Charm, Stamp Washi Tape, All Stretch Goals

Stretch goals included a hotel key tag if the project reached 50 orders, a drawstring bag at 100 orders, and a foil upgrade to physical copies of the zine at 150 orders. In collaboration with a concurrent zine project Triple Resonance, buyers could receive die-cut stickers if they purchased any physical bundles of both zines [5]. To further promote sales, the project started a share campaign on October 18, 2021 and promised to add a free Instagram-esque PVC card to physical orders if there post reached 200 retweets and 200 likes[6]. These campaign goals were reached on October 27, 2022[7]. A project ran a flash sale on Halloween, offering a 10% discount on physical orders on that day [8].

Sales would last until November 15, 2021.

Leftover sales ran from June 6 to July 6, 2022. Once leftover orders were shipped out, the project's social media account was no longer monitored, effectively closing the project.
