I've decided to adopt Chuck Shurley's philosophy on writing: "It's not really jumping the shark if you never come back down."

When it comes to fandom, I think the only thing that could make it better would be free pie. Preferably a la mode. We could get together every week and have ice cream socials attended via car, ferry, teleportation, even spaceships if necessary. And we could have readings and viewings and a big sleepover so no one had to worry about getting home afterward.

And pie, of course. A former quarterback once offered the following advice about the uncertainties of life: "Go out and have a Rocky Road," he said. "With two dips. You're gonna die; it don't matter." I think fandom is a lot like this. Why waste time worrying about the practical or karmic significance of your chosen creative outlet and instead ask youself, "Self, does this bring me joy?" If the answer is yes, an it harm none, then I say more please!
