Two Blind Mice is a Kirk/Spock story by Brandy Amber Allen.

It was published in the print zine First Time #13.

Summary

"Spock locates a missing Kirk, only to find he was reverted mentally to a child, spouting nursery rhymes while they try to escape their pursuers."

Reactions and Reviews

Kirk goes on a solo shore leave and is missing. Spock beams down to search for him and finds Kirk beat up and only able to communicate in nursery rhymes. Conveniently, Spock knows all the Terran rhymes and can answer Kirk.

They go to a rustic hunting lodge and Spock takes care of Kirk—bathes him—and finds himself becoming more and more attracted.

Meanwhile, some vague problems with the Enterprise— the situation is a plot (but I didn’t understand what the plot was) involving Kirk’s father who was supposed to have been dead. So the Enterprise can’t rescue Kirk and Spock, at least right away.

Another unexplained thing was Kirk chanting the nursery rhymes. As far as I could find, there was no explanation except for that Kirk had been beat up. But then Kirk comes out of it and all is well.

Some nice romantic style of writing, but not always successful. Although, a very nice moment when Spock cries by Kirk’s side and tells him he loves him. [1]
