Total Drama Takes are a collection of anonymous confessional blogs on Tumblr that anyone can submit their confessions, hot takes and shower thoughts to. They are considered to be a major part of the Total Drama fandom on Tumblr, though are unknown elsewhere.
After the mod of first Takes blog left the fandom, it spawned countless off-shoots and parody accounts. It inspired the Total Takes Series, where some of the mods of the original Takes blog "participate" in a virtual season of Total Drama, inspired by the popular competition fic genre of TD fic. Although most takes are about the characters and plot of the show, depending on the blog, there's also (typically negative) confessions about specific BNFs in the fandom, though these don't border on harassment. Other Total Drama anonymous confessional blogs such as theconfessioncam are unrelated to these blogs.
History
i can give you a basic version of it bc i don't have good memory.The original td takes blog is @/total-ass. They were the first total-drama-takes, posting in November of 2020. They then ran the blog up until January of 2022, where they announced that they hated total drama, hated total drama fans, hoped that total drama never got a -new season, and changed the url to total-ass. I never found out who was the person behind total-ass, but I miss you and I thank you for your service.
In the middle of total-ass's time running the blog, another takes account called tee-dee-fandom-advice came, with Mod Kitty. Mod Kitty ran the blog where the funny people of the fandom can send takes, and they were stuck in the well. When total-ass changed the url, tee-dee-fandom-advice, now run by Mod Michael I think, took the url, which made the blog become the new total-drama-takes. td takes 2, if you will.
Mod Michael then handed ownership to Mod Mal (ladylulys or however you spell the name) and Mod Mal proceeded to change the log in info and lock Mod Michael out of the account. I can't remember how long she had it for, but then Michael was able to get the information back and take back the account. Now, this is where my version of events gets mixed up. I don't remember the mod order of td takes 2.
Mod O took over after Michael. Can't remember the reason why Michael left, not going to ask her why she left, but Mod O was there. From there, more mods came in. I was there for Patrick Bateman and Fischer, I remember seeing Mclovin and Peter on my dash from time to time, but I barely remember Austin and Fren. Then, td takes 2 imploded.
From there, the current holder of total-drama-takes took the url, Sha-Mod. But, the account that has been used since td takes 2 imploded is real-total-drama-takes with Mod Courtney. Sha-Mod has removed sending asks to the blog, ending the cycle of the total-drama-takes url. Thank you Sha-Mod. And thank you, Mod Courtney, for dealing with this.
Oh. yeah bc of td takes 2 imploding everyone took the time to try to make their own td takes blog, hence realest-total-drama-takes, total-drama-takes-takes (original, before joner deleted) and some other stuff, but Mod Courtney beat them all and is considered the official hot takes blog.[1]
started out as teedeefandomadvice in 2021, as a parody version of the actual total-drama-takes. the main mod at this time was mod kitty, and there were a lot of jokes about falling down wells and stuff. the pfp was a well at some point. the blog wasn’t super active but generally existed to poke fun at td fans.sometime in 2021 or early 2022, the original total-drama-takes changed their url to total-ass and posted a diatribe about how awful running the blog and interacting with the fandom was. the owner of this account lets teedeefandomadvice have the url, becoming the new total-drama-takes. this causes total drama to start trending on tumblr.
i think around this time the original owner of the blog was revealed, but idk if i shld share that now bcuz privacy. mod mal also happened around april fool’s 2021. mod mal was seemingly a parody of fujoshis and obnoxious shippers in the fandom, responding to every ask with a gif (peak 2012 tumblr) and shipping mickey x noah. this went on way past april fools and eventually mod mal was replaced by mod michael, who was relatively normal all things considered.
and then i didn’t rly keep track, there’s so much, there’s like mod mclovin, mod peter griffin, mod ramona, catboy gideon graves, and the austin powers mod[2]

Anonymous Confessionals
- total-drama-takes, Archived version, the first Takes blog. When the mod left the fandom, the blog became abandoned, though it is still accessible as of 2024 as total-ass, Archived version.
- total-drama-takes (2) [Unable to archive], the second Takes blog. It had multiple mods, though was deactivated due to mod drama. Although it was deleted by the head mod, mod Michael, no other mods knew that was going to happen.
- real-total-drama-takes, Archived version, the third Takes blog. This one was created after the second blog became dormant. It's moderated by Mod Courtney and is SFW. In early 2024, the blog went on hiatus since Mod Courtney was getting NSFW and homophobic/transphobic/racist submissions after the release of Total Drama: Island (2024) brought in outsiders of the fandom to her blog.
- total-drama-takes-the-squeakquel, Archived version, the fourth Takes blog. This one was created after the third blog went on hiatus. It follows the same rules as that blog and is moderated by mod Ripper.
