The Power of Love has the subtitle "(a dark, historical fantasy").
It is a 25-page Professionals zine by Anna Parrish.
The story begins when Bodie and Doyle are 11 and 10 years old. Cowley is their teacher. Bodie and Doyle both have terrible homelives and are bullied. Bodie runs away to sea and comes back a harder man. They solve their circumstances and become lovers.
The story supposedly begins in 1655, but the vocabulary and descriptions would put it more as 1880s. The primitive black and white screen shots portray the characters in what looks like the 1970s.
Rewritten and Republished as Original Fiction
Parrish filed the serial numbers off this story, changed the names to Ray Blackman, Billy (William) Harper and Kettle, removed the sexual elements and reposted it in 2005 as The Power of Friendship.
