Talk:List of Starsky & Hutch Fanzines

I was going to tackle this fandom. Should it categorized the way Star Trek: TOS has been?

  • Category:Starsky & Hutch Gen and Het Anthology Zines
  • Category:Starsky & Hutch Gen and Het Novel Zines
  • Category:Starsky & Hutch Slash Zines

or should the slash zines be divided, too, giving us:

  • Category:Starsky & Hutch Gen and Het Anthology Zines
  • Category:Starsky & Hutch Gen and Het Novel Zines
  • Category:Starsky & Hutch Slash Anthology Zines
  • Category:Starsky & Hutch Slash Novel Zines

How much het is there going to be? From the way it looks to me it's mostly slash or gen but you know the fandom better than I do. The anthology/novel thing in Beauty and the Beast fandom was the only way to sort these zines I could think of (the show is canonically about an epic het love story so trying to sort by gen/het doesn't make sense here) and Star Trek is so freaking huge that just sorting it by gen/het/slash wasn't enough. For S&H I would suggest the same as for Pros, something like this:
  • Category:Starsky & Hutch Zines
  • Category:Starsky & Hutch Gen Zines
  • Category:Starsky & Hutch Slash Zines
Everything that isn't gen or slash fiction would go to Starsky & Hutch Zines (for example letterzines, newsletter, poetry zines, etc.) and if there is enough of some type of zine, it gets its own subcategory. What do you think? --Doro 20:34, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
Okay. --Mrs. Potato Head 20:44, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
Yay! ^_^ Should I make the cats for you? --Doro 20:50, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
Sure. I don't think I'll use the plain Starsky & Hutch Zines one, though. Even the newsletters and letterzines and the like fall into gen or slash or both. Thank you, Doro. --Mrs. Potato Head 20:53, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
Yes, but they are non-fiction, right? We could make a non-fiction category for them. --Doro 20:57, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
Even the letterzines and newsletters ones seem to frequently contain fiction so that would be a hard category to pinpoint. I'm actually pretty confused on this whole category thing. If the idea is to divide zines into categories, then it would make sense to have more categories, especially in these large fandoms. But that doesn't seem to be the case, so I hesitate to divide them up any more than necessary. I wish we could have started with a master list of fandoms and gone from there; I'm feeling like I'm doing it wrong half the time, and the other half am duplicating work, both mine and others. --Mrs. Potato Head 21:03, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
I agree, more categories in bigger fandoms would make sense. I think it's mostly a matter of how much information we have and what kind of categories would make sense for the fandom. For example, sorting the BatB zines I noticed that there are quite a few poetry zines, enough to give them their own category and I plan to make one later when the whole sorting thing has calmed down. Anyway, I've created the S&H categories. Let me know when you need additional categories. :) --Doro 21:18, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

zine on list

Is there a way to make this zine: Adventures of a Chelonian in Collaboration with a Cayman, show up on the list? I added it to the list, but because it is a redirect, it doesn't work right. --Mrs. Potato Head 20:35, 2 November 2011 (UTC)
