also I'm really starting to wonnder why BaB produced a gazillion calendars when they seem so far inbetween in other fandoms...

Maybe you need calendars to keep track of time when you live in tunnels under the city. It's all very mysterious. o_O --Doro 00:16, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
On a more serious note, I suspect it may be because of the availability of official merchandise? Fandoms with franchises often license calendars for fans to buy. I've certainly seen Star Wars, Star Trek and Stargate calendars, and while they are on air even smaller properties may sell one, so fan publishers may not want to risk being perceived in competition to that. Especially if calendars are produced in license by smaller collectible producers these may be more familiar with fandom, and notice competition. (and unlike with tie-in novels vs fanfic, you usually only need one decorative wall calendar whereas the trend in books is to buy and read more than one per year, at least among people who get any in the first place *G*). I also noticed that the calendars only start up 1990, the year BaB went off the air, and only really get numerous a bit later still, so maybe fannish calendars replaced official ones. --RatCreature 00:54, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

Are calendars always classified as zines, or do zines sometimes contain calendars?--æthel 20:11, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

I don't think zines contained calendars. And I while the same people who issued calendars issued zines, too (hence the crossover), I think that the zine category doesn't really fit for calendars. ADDING: though many of the BB calendars, and maybe others, also included a fair amount of poetry which should to be taken into account. --Mrs. Potato Head 20:15, 12 June 2010 (UTC)
Interphase (calendar) was a supplement to Interphase but we have put them on separate pages. --Doro 22:19, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

perhaps Fanworks would be the proper template? keeping in mind that many of these calendars contain original fan artwork. As long as that by using the Fanworks Template the links are not lost from the B&B 'zine' page - perhaps create a separate "fanworks' section there. I would not eliminate them from the zine page because of the poetry.--Morgandawn 21:57, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

I'd say this page doesn't need a template, since it's a chronological list of many fanworks, but I'd agree that the fanwork template would fit for individual calendar pages if they're not zines.--æthel 22:38, 12 June 2010 (UTC)
