Steven Universe is the protagonist of the show of the same name.
Canon
Steven is the only known Gem/human hybrid, with a human father and a Gem mother who ceased to be upon his birth. During the earlier seasons of the show, Steven trains to become a Crystal Gem, both to prove himself and protect his family, and to fill the hole in the group that his mother left behind.
Steven spends most of the series' run as an optimistic pacifist, looking for the good in people whenever possible and seeking nonviolent resolutions to conflicts. He struggles, however, with his own self-perception, and often wonders just how much like his mother he is (and if being like her would be a good or bad thing). In the epilogue series to Steven Universe, Steven Universe Future, Steven struggles with his own mental health and the years of trauma he experienced as the boy savior of the world.
