Stark is a Farscape character. He is Stykera, a member of an alien race with the ability to ease pain and suffering of others.
In Canon
Stark is introduced as a mentally unstable prisoner of Scorpius on Gammeck Base in Season 1. He wears a half face mask, made of metal, which covers an incorporeal area, that glows brightly when uncovered. He removes the mask when easing another's pain or helping a soul pass over, and in doing so Stark retains a small part of their soul. This process is believed to contribute to Stark's erratic personality. Stark was also a Scarran slave, before he was captured by Scorpius. Stark is rescued by Moya's crew, when they come for his cell mate John Crichton.
As a member of Moya's crew, Stark forms a closes relationship with Zhaan and is distraught at her death.
In Fandom
Stark/Zhaan is the most common ship including this character. It is a canonical relationship.
Stark is less commonly shipped with Aeryn Sun and John Crichton.
Many fans highlight Stark's childlike joy at life, and his compassion for others. He is mentally unstable but this is a result of the many horrors he has seen in his life. Fans view Stark as a tragic figure. Fics focusing on Stark often portray his eccentricities as the result of trauma, and his ability to absorb the pain and memories of others.
