Excerpts

I loved [Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows], I really did. I was a little unsure going into it because, you know, at the end of book six when it was clear that book seven was not going to be another year at Hogwarts, I was kinda apprehensive, because the Hogwarts part really is one of my favorite elements of the series. But I think that JK Rowling really carried it off. I thought the, um- it was action packed, there were a few parts that maybe dragged a little bit, but overall... I mean, I will freely admit that I sobbed through the last five or so chapters. Um, and it was just- it was riveting and, you know, at the end of the book, I just sat there and sort of hugged it. Um, and it was an incredible experience.

I had mixed feelings about [the last book], honestly. The first time I read it through... you know, I was like, "Well, what the heck is this all about? I'm not really that fond of it." But the longer I turned it over in my head, the more I actually kind of liked it, I confess. I know it's kind of cheesy and there's a lot in there that, you know, people called years ago, but it just- it made me so happy to see Harry with a family and clearly, you know, in a place in his life where he's enjoying himself, where he's content and enjoying some well deserved peace. So for that reason, I enjoyed it.
