Some Excerpts

Why did you choose your pen name?

Two reasons. First, because I'm a sucker for verbal aesthetics and I thought "Elektra" sounded good. Second, because I was reading Edith Hamilton's 'Mythology' at the time, and thought that Elektra was an interesting character. It was a bit embarrassing to find out that I had also inadvertantly named myself after a comic book character, but I got over it. (And developed an addiction to comic books in the process, but that's another story.)

When did you start writing fanfiction?

A rather silly plot bunny (involving lethal baked goods – don't ask) bit my muse. I never finished that story, but apparently the bunny invited its friends, because... well, here I am.

Would you agree that fanfiction is a genre dominated by women, and if so, why do you think it's so?

Yes, I'd agree with that, although I'm not entirely sure why. Perhaps because men tend to be more "hands-on" (as opposed to "hands on keyboard") than women?

This is a site devoted to antagonists. Could you reveal us your favourite Mr. Bad Guy?

It's a tie between Voldemort and Bellatrix Lestrange. Voldemort, because of the contradictions in his nature. On the one hand, he's malevolent and evil – yet there's an odd degree of childishness in his behavior, which I find to be absolutely fascinating. And Bellatrix because she's... well, Bellatrix! Powerful, psychotic, passionate, cruel, brilliant, ruthless... She's not a nice person, but as a literary figure, what's not to love?
