Robb Stark was a fictional character from A Song of Ice and Fire, and was played by Richard Madden on the HBO television series Game of Thrones.

his actions were very understandable even if they were ultimately unwise. He wanted to honor his father, save his sisters, marry the woman he loved, and get his people out from under the thumb of the south.[1]

Canon

At the beginning of the series Robb lives with his parents and siblings at Winterfell. King Robert visits and his father goes south, with Robb's two sisters, to be Hand of the King. After King Robert's death his father Ned Stark is imprisoned as a traitor. Robb calls the banners and goes south. Ned is beheaded by King Joffrey. Robb is declared King in the North by his followers. At one point he needs to cross at the Twins and makes a deal with Walder Frey, agreeing to marry one of his daughters in the future. Robb falls in love and marries another woman, breaking his promise. They negotiate a new deal agreeing to marry his Uncle Edmure to one of Walder Frey's daughters. At the wedding the Freys killed all the northerners and Roose Bolton betrays and murders Robb.
