Prowl is a romantic Klaroline fanfic by withfireandblood with Action/Adventure themes that received a wide spead praise and was possibly one of the most recommended fics during the time it was being published.[1][2][3][4][5]

I remember during a chat with other members of the Klaroline magazine, we were talking about the Klaroline awards in regards to the category that Prowl was in and we decided that with all of the votes that the story typically gets, we were pretty sure Prowl could take over the world. It is another one of the Classic Klaroline stories that everyone has heard of and is much loved (and in some cases the opposite)[6]

Summary

Official Summary:The Mikaelson family had a saying. "Love beyond family is the greatest weakness. We do not feel and we do not care." It was a code he lived by. So why did he save the girl? Klaus / Caroline.

Reviews and Comments

Withfireandblood does an excellent job at weaving in all of the characters from the show, from the main ones like the Mikaelson family, the Gilberts, Alaric, etc to the smaller ones that only appeared once or twice on the show. Not only that, but all of them are very much in character despite the fact that they are all human and there is no supernatural element to the story.. The characters have a lot of depth, and we see below the surface of them to what makes them tick. My favorites are Elijah, Katherine, and Kol but Henrik is also great.

The relationships among all of the characters are also well written with great interactions and dialog. The Mikaelson family moments are epic, parallelling what we saw in Dangerous Liaisons. All of the characters in the story have chemistry, especially Klaus and Caroline, of course. Their chemistry in particular is electric and sizzles as you read their banter, confrontations, or just the soft moments they share. And don’t get me started on the smut! Okay, forget that I said that, I have to talk about the smut because it is very hot. Again, I wish that ff.net had a sticker that warned a cold shower would be necessary because there are several parts in this story that would need it, especially one involving a bath and another where Caroline learns about pleasurable pain.

For those of you who love to read stories about the characters themselves and not just them as a couple, Prowl is a good story for that. Because while the main plot is about them, it’s not solely about their relationship but also the characters themselves and how meeting each other had affected the other. Caroline learns she has more strength than she thought she did even though she had survived a previously rough past while Klaus discovers that love other than familial love is not a weakness.[6]

I love this story! I love everything about it! I love Kol's inappropriate humour. I love Henrik being an adorable babe. I love, love, love Katherine and Elijah. I love the family ties you've woven. Words do not describe how much I love Klaus and Caroline with all their perfect insecurities and growing together.[8]
