Hunting Season showed Ray and Fraser as very competitive over the attentions of Maggie MacKenzie. This fic is from Maggie's POV and the fic's scenes slot well around the edges of the scenes we saw. As well as keeping the tone of the episode throughout we get to see Maggie - her awkwardness in the city, her observations - and how she interprets them in view of Ray and Fraser's behaviour as well as the context of the case itself - the controlled desperation in questioning the wheelman really works. So, great voices for all three and neat use of Maggie's outsider view of the weirdness of Fraser and Ray. Ray's focus on Maggie in particular is just that right side of awkwardness for her. Especially contrasting how much Fraser must have adapted with Maggie's newness to Chicago. Also, dead!Bob brings the humour, just as straightforward as always. [1]
