Excerpts

I cannot honestly classify my fic. I think the only good classification is "basically adult, multi-fandom multi-pairing, no pairing dominating."

So then, me. My first fic was actually X-Files fanfiction back in 1998, and actually, my first Buffy-related fic was actually Spike/Scully. But if we want to talk about my first honest-to-god Buffy piece, it was called Midnight Train to Nowhere, and of all things, it's Giles/Faith masquerading as somewhere between Oz/Willow, Giles/Willow, and Oz/Faith. Which, in retrospect is weird, because I'm alternating between Wes/Faith and Wes/Lilah, both of which have a similar vibe. I guess you always come home to yourself, no matter where you go.

Anyway. Right now I'm in a weird space as a writer because I have found a pairing for the first time in a long long time, and it's Wesley/Lilah, AKA the meanest Jossverse pairing ever. We all know it's not going to work. She's evil, he's good. He loves Fred, the way he's "destined to" (at least, if the shippers are right) and she's using him for his body. Plus, sooner or later, she has to die because she's evil and not looking very redeemable. They are doomed from the get-go.

The problem is...my God, they work. I can't not watch them. Destiny be damned. And I think that's why I really, really love them, because as probably the biggest chameleon in the BtVS/Ats universe, they represent what I've been saying, which is: there are no rules.
