ngl it's pretty annoying to me when the response to any female character existing in proximity to a mlm ship (canon or not) is either "boo she sucks I don't want her to be a love interest and get in the way" or "don't worry she's their mean lesbian bestie" like have you tried being normal about women for once #and you can always tell when it's them trying to remove the competition in a woke way rather than because they actually care about lesbians #because they don't develop it any further they just say she's a lesbian or AT MOST give her a cardboard cutout girlfriend

Yes, I agree. But also in media, sometimes female characters are awful. Like they are written to be purely annoying. I often wonder if the script writer is taking it out on woman or has never really tried talking to one intimately before. And that’s just as bad.

I've been on Tumblr for about 13 years and this bullshit was present even then. My first taste of it was the Nyota X Spock relationship from the 2009 movie. The hate was scathing and it was disgusting. I wanted to believe that this behavior came from stupid young people with a high school mentality, but if this was coming from grown adults then I'd have to question their sanity.
