Nevermore: We're Protecting Eachother is a Bumbleby themed charity zine in the RWBY fandom. They raised $2525 for the The Trevor Project.
About
NEVERMORE “We’re Protecting Each other”Bumbleby Fanzine, is a non-profit, fan-run project dedicated to the characters Yang Xiao Long and Blake Belladonna from the popular 2013-2019 Web-series RWBY. It aims to explore their complex relationship and development with one another within the show and canon universe.
Blake and Yang were one of the few partners within RWBY who did not find each other, but rather sought each other out. Particularly Blake who followed Yang like a shadow through the Emerald Forest before making an effective intro.
They are the most developed relationship within the show and are heavily implied to have feelings beyond friendship for each other. Yang is the Sun and Blake is the Shadow, they complement each other and are Yin and Yang; opposites yet similar.
As described in a recent Amity Arena attack:
“Bumblebee grows stronger as the two become more like each other.”
What we want to do is celebrate the status of this beautiful relationship this year especially after Volume 6, which showcased both these incredible characters strengths and weakness as well as their deep feelings for one another. (Also to stop the cursed memes that had developed this hiatus….)
The Zine’s objective is to showcase the many different creative talents within the entire RWBY fandom, and more specifically, within the Bumbleby community.
We seek to deliver a curated selection of fanworks dedicated to portraying the Bumbleby relationship, wrapped up in the form of a physical book (or digital PDF!) as stunning as the content itself.
This is the Bumbleby charity zine! The zine has 60+ pages of exclusive artwork and fanfics all about the queen bees themselves, Blake and Yang! All proceeds that do not go towards printing will be going directly to the Trevor Project!
