Excerpts

How long have you been writing fan fiction and/or making fan art and/or whatever else (vids, knitted goods, pornographic gingerbread cookies)?

After some combing through my lj pages, I have discovered that my first story was posted a little more than 4 years ago (in RENT fandom, oh how the time flies). Before that, I remember writing down scenes from tv shows and movies that I enjoyed, but I don't think I ever finished any of them.

I wrote many RENT fics and did some of the fandom stuff for a while, and then mostly just fic writing in O11. I remember reading lots of Harry Potter fanfic in the lull between book 4 and 5, like many. Many of my formative fanfic reading and experiencing comes from the Due South Hexwood archive, which is kind of hilarious. SGA was the first time that I was a "part" of fandom in a big way, by doing fic challenges and engaging with the awesome people who follow the show... and who are still creating fantastic, awesome things that totally stand on their own now that our show is over.

Why do you ship McKay/Sheppard? What draws you to the pairing, what do you like and dislike? Favourite scenes or episodes? Quotes? Screencaps? What other SGA pairings do you ship?

I love the humor even in the smallest scenes and the fact that, through it all, they have each other's back. At its most basic, I honestly think they both are the people who know each other the best, and that kind of makes my heart hurt in a good way. I love "Echoes" (because shouting!boys is hilarious) especially. And... more episodes that can no longer recall. I have a soft spot in my heart for Ronon/Keller, because it looked like a cute idea, and also because I've read it gorgeously written.
