Pairing: None - Steve/Danny pre-slash if you really really squint [...] I think this was the very first story I read in the H50 fandom. It's written not long after the show started airing and it captures that already recognizable banter between the characters, as well as giving some nice insight into Steve. I'm a sucker for hurt/comfort, even if it's just looking after someone with a miserable cold, but what stayed with me in this story was the description of the guestroom at Steve's house. So much character revealed in just a few lines. To me, that's what elevates this story from being a standard hurt/comfort fic to something more weighty. It's simple, it's short, but it delivers on everything it promises, and gives the reader that bit of extra insight into the characters. It remains one of my favorites.[1]
