Fest no Jutsu is a Naruto fanfiction and fan art fest which runs annually. It is organised on the r/NarutoFanfiction discord server and hosted on AO3. Participants sign up by entering up to 10 prompts, each of which can request fanfiction, fan art, or either. During the creation stage, as many prompts as desired can be claimed, including prompts which other creators have already claimed. After work reveals, there is a week-long period of anonymity, at which point creators are also revealed.
Prior events
In 2020, the server ran its own exchange, with 24 works created.
In 2021, the server collaborated on Exchange no Jutsu, with 24 works created including server members and external participants.
2022
Prior to the event starting, the moderators made a post to check for interest in participating in a gift exchange or fest. There weren't enough people planning to get involved for an exchange to be feasible, due to issues with matching when there are just a small number of participants. As a result, a fest was considered to be a better option. 15 works were produced in total, off of 51 prompts.
2023
The 2023 Fest no Jutsu was organised somewhat last-minute. However, there was still enough interest that the fest was able to go ahead. There were 170 prompts submitted. In total, 25 works were produced over the course of the event.
2024
There are plans to continue with Fest no Jutsu in 2024, with prompt collection likely to begin sometime in or after May, and work reveals likely to be before October. Anyone interested should join the subreddit and the discord, which has an invite link available on the subreddit.
