Author's Comments
I once got an email from a reader who asked if I would go back and rewrite my gen TS series, Evolution of Friendship, as slash as she never read gen but she'd heard good things about the series and would like to read it. I pointed out that there were currently 18 stories in the series, which is still not completed, and that I didn't have time to do that. She then asked why I didn't just write it as slash in the first place as "everyone knows the best writing in the fandom is slash". I replied that had I wanted it to be slash I probably would have called it Evolution of a Romance rather than Evolution of Friendship LOL. I don't think she ever read any of it. And I've certainly had my share of "i'd read this if it were gen/slash but as it's not I won't" kind of emails too. [1]
