Elanor is a gen Tolkien newsletter in Japanese. It contains members' letters, information, book reviews, etc. It has two sister zines: The White Rider and The Black Rider.
Reactions and Reviews
Elanor is the newsletter of Shiro-no-norite and is almost indecipherable to me. Shiro-no-norite is a very active group in Japan and its newsletter seems to show this. Most issues have lots of text and very little artwork. Number 167 (31 [!] February 1995) and Number 168 (31 March 1995) The only thing that I can tell you with certainty is that the newsletters contain an index based on a new Japanese edition of The Lord of the Rings. The group had published a bound index to 7" x 10", Japanese.[1]
