Diana Reid is a character on Criminal Minds, an American television show that debuted on September 22, 2005. She is Spencer Reid's mother.
Canon
First introduced in the final episode of Season 1, The Fisher King: Part 1.
Diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic who resides in Bennington Sanitarium throughout most of the show. It is revealed in Season 2, Episode 15, Revelations, that Spencer had her committed when he was 18.
Previously married to William Reid, Spencer Reid's father, who left the family when Spencer was 10.
