Balto is a trilogy of animated films about a wolfdog of the same name. The first movie is loosely inspired by an actual sleddog, whereas the sequels are about Balto's daughter and son respectively. The fandoms are focused on the first two films, Balto and Balto II: Wolf Quest; the third, Balto III: Wings of Change, is largely ignored. Balto and Wolf Quest are two of the most common films used in animash videos.

Romance is not a focus of the trilogy, but there are a few canon cases. Balto/Jenna is the hero/heroine pairing. In the second film, Balto's mother, Aniu, flirts with him while disguised as a fox. The third film has Boris getting with another goose named Stella. Balto/Jenna is popular in fanworks, but the other two are not. Balto/Aleu and Jenna/Aleu do exist, but more usually these characters are shipped with other, unrelated feral characters in crossover animashes.
