Assassin_J is a fic writer and artist who has participated in fandom on-and-off since the early 2000s, beginning with Atlantis: The Lost Empire (during which time period she wrote under the name Atlantima). In A:TLE fandom she gained attention for her filk songs (which were posted to Fanfiction.net prior to the rules update which banned songfics). She was also a participant in the Yahoo! Group Atlantis FanFiction and Fanart.

She has often indulged in crossovers and crossover ships, and has a great number of OCs.

In the mid-2000s she ran a few small fanlistings:

A graph she made tracking the number of AO3 works that have Eivor Varinsdottir's gender tagged in the freeforms.

In 2013 she got into Assassin's Creed, and began publishing AC fanfic in mid-2014 with her first AC story being Rendezvous at Monteriggioni, a Desmond/OFC drama set in the canon Brotherhood timeline.[1]

In September 2014 she began playing Prototype, tweeting "#Prototype on sale so I got it. Figured I should find out about this Alex guy who keeps showing up with Desmond in #AssassinsCreed fanart."[2]

In March 2015, she began her entry into the Protocreed crossover fandom with Replication, a Desmond/Alex fuckbuddies-to-lovers male pregnancy drama, written in response to a prompt on the asscreedkinkmeme. This would eventually become her most-kudosed work on AO3. (Originally she was crossposting it to FFnet, but she removed it well before the fic was completed, due to flames and comments that it was too explicit for FFnet.)

Her most-bookmarked and most-subscribed work on AO3 is Miles, Magic, and, Mayhem, began in December 2014, which has Desmond Miles waking up in the place of the Skyrim player character after the events of AC3. This was the first of many "Desmond-in-Skyrim" fics by many authors.[3]

She has presented panels at Ushicon 2018 and HavenCon 2019 on the topics "All About Assassin's Creed" and "LGBTQ+ Representation in Assassin's Creed".

She also spearheaded the Cross Our Hearts fanwork challenge for videogame crossovers. Most recently, she has edited Rated G For Gender, a series of digital anthology zines that were sold to raise funds to support transgender-focused organizations in 2022 and 2023.
