Another Time, Another Place is a K/S story by Pamela Rose.
It was published in the print zine Companion #2. This is a teaser for the novel, Rest of the Story, published in Companion #3. It is the first chapter of the novel.
Reactions and Reviews
The last story in the zine is by Pamela R., one of those new K/Sers recently come to fandom. Her story “Another Time, Another Place” was perhaps in reaction to that death story in Companion 1. Here Kirk’s body is rejuvenated from death, and he is given the choice to live or die. Despite his grief over what he thinks is Spock’s death, he chooses life and finds the price for it is to be an operative for The Preservers as Gary Seven was. Spock, having agreed to Kirk’s wish that he outlive him, enabling the captain not to die alone, finds himself also with a repaired body and forced to make the same choice. He is unaware that his bondmate has been brought back to life. All that is Vulcan in him urges him to die. His human side wants to live, and as Kirk watches him unseen, Spock finally chooses life. [1]
