AdvanceShipping is a term for the romantic pairing of Ash and May in the Pokémon anime. AdvanceShipping along with ContestShipping (Drew/May) were two of the most popular ships of the Advance Generation series.
Fans sometimes draw parallels with ApprenticeShipping, with Ash in the role of the tutor and May as the student.
