Additions and Corrections to the Star Trek Concordance and Supplement by Ruth Berman contains 24 pages and was published 1974.

The zine is mimeographed.

It is an unofficial supplement to Bjo Trimble's Star Trek Concordance.

In 1973, before being published as standalone zine, Ruth Berman compiled a list of additions and corrections to the Star Trek Concordance and Supplement.

This fanwork was also printed in the final issue of T-Negative with the title of "Review."

The zine includes excepts from letters to Ruth Berman from Kay Elliott (Stella Mudd), Patrick Horgan (Chairman Eneg), Frank Vinci (Leonard Nimoy's stand in), Jane Wyatt (Amanda), Gene Dynarski (Ben Childress), Booker Bradshaw (Dr. M'Benga), and Ed McCready (numerous characters).

From the Zine: Berman's Remarks

The Concordance and Supplement are, of course, monumental reference books for ST fans. But, as commonly happens in any large-scale work, there are quite a few minor errors. As I use the C&S so much myself in writing ST articles & fiction, I found it convenient to compile this list of additions and corrections, and I assume that most of you will find it convenient to have for the same reasons. The list covers the following: additional cast names, cross references omitted, main entries omitted, and additional bits of information on entries already present.

Dorothy Heydt reasonably restricted information to that contained in the shows as broadcast (occasionally supplemented by data in scripts) and in the Writers Guide; however, D.C. Fontana (in fanzines and speeches to fans) has revealed full names for Kirk and Spock, and I've added that data here.

For the most part, I'm ignoring spelling or typographical errors. They matter only in names or "alien" words. A "See" or "See also" cross reference here is to the entry in the C&S. unless it's marked with an asterisk, in which case it's to an entry in here.

Skating the Copyright Issues

In the separate issue, Berman writes: "This is not a publication of additions and corrections: it is not available to the public and not for sale. I'm running off a couple hundred copies to give to friends and ST nit-pickers. While I've got copies I'll be happy to let anyone have a copy who wants one -- although I'd appreciate twenty-five cents to cover postage and envelope. So if those of you getting this want to tell people about it, you may, but please tell them about it individually, no ads in zines. The material herein is covered by common-law copyright and may not be reprinted except by my permission."

Trimble's Reaction

Bjo Trimble was quite negative about this fanwork.

In 2009, on a Star Trek forum, Bjo Trimble said about "Additions and Corrections to the Star Trek Concordance and Supplement":

I have a copy of Berman's snippy little fanzine, which she published without telling me or showing me a copy before it went out. I had to find out by having another fan send me a copy. But it is a file copy and I am not inclined to share it. Much of the info is erroneous but she had a grudge against me and went out of her way in those days to show me in a bad light. Some fans lapped it up, but fortunately, she never achieved her goal of running me out of fandom and she is now out of my life.-- Bjo [1]
