alt.tv.x-ville (ATXV) is home to the character RPG X-Ville. In March 1997, it was created to give the RPG its own newsgroup apart from its birthplace, alt.tv.x-files (ATX). Despite the creation of ATXV, X-Ville continued to be active in ATX, as many X-Ville residents just liked it better there.
