1994 Beauty and the Beast Fan Questionnaire was created by Deb Bichel.

From Of Love and Hope #2 in September 1994:

“Longtime fan, Deb Bichel, is wondering what you think! She attended her first convention this year in Las Vegas and found that she was very curious about other fans' widespread opinions on Beauty and the Beast. Consequently

she has prepared a questionnaire, responses to which she will publish is booklet format. Deb would like to have this available to fans by next year's convention. The cost is undetermined at this time, but will only include Deb's cost to produce it plus an additional few dollars to be earmarked for the charity chosen for "A Distant Shore." Deb would love to send you a copy of the questionnaire. You can leave her a message with your full name and address by calling [phone number redacted] or you can write her at P.O. Box 37161 Omaha, NE 68137-9998. You can also receive a copy of the

Questionnaire through the Internet at c2h6ofree.aol.com (or c2h6ofree if you are on AOL). Let's show her how many fans are out there..”

From a November 1994 Message from Deb

Posted to the Of Love and Hope mailing list:

In hopes of encouraging more people to request and respond to my B&B questionnaire, I thought I would share with you some of the wonderful responses I have received. These are from the essay portion of the Q.

- What hooked you on Beauty and the Beast? ..."the revelation of Vincent - so complete a character and yet vulnerable with a marvellous voice and body language." ..."it entered our homes, entered our hearts and changed us all for the better. What other program can boast that in this sick old world?" ..."the stories dealt with the HUMAN condition in a positive way...focused on what is best in all of us, and offer a vision of a more perfect world." ..."that VOICE!"

- How has B&B changed your life? ..."I found my creative streak and began to write." ..."Allowed me to embrace a bond I had thought long broken." ..."my eyes have been opened to all around me that I knew where there, but didn't then see them."

- On the humorous side, who do you think would have made a terrible guest star and in what role? Example: Charro as a down and out dentist retreating to the tunnels. ..."Who's Charro?"

I love that last one! Vincent is definitely everyone's favorite character. Are you suprised? I need many, many more responses in order to mass publish this information. I will gladly mail you a copy of the Q if you will supply me with your address. I can't e-mail it to you since I can't download from AOL to Internet. Rest assured that your address is confidential. I will not share it. Thanks for reading! Deb

[Eric has kindly offered to disibute by email an ASCII copy of the Questionnaire if you any readers are unable to use snail mail.

Deb says thanks Eric! ed.]

Responses

From Deb, a month later, also posted to the Of Love and Hope mailing list: "I've received about 20 responses to my questionnaire - less than I expected, but statistically, this is pretty good..”

Canada

Posted by Deb in Jan 1995 to Of Love and Hope:

"I received some requests from folks in Canada for the questionnaire. All the Q's I sent to Canada were returned to me. I had them wrapped and stapled shut and this evidently won't go through the post office machines. Of course, they canceled my stamps before returning them. Ho, ho, ho. So, if any of you in Canada would like a Q, please email me again so that I don't miss you. I'm in the process of enveloping them all and re-sending them, but I don't want to skip anyone."

Publication

Deb published the survey responses in the Beauty and the Beast Questionairre.
