Zettai Hentai was a Naruto scanlation group that scanlated and translated doujinshi. It was run by herchuckness. The Translators listed were Emma Asakura, nayama, Dakota, cchan1224, P, ChibiRisu-chan and Pan. Scanlators were myth, surfin_pika, kinu_eni and aznsage. Myth also served as an editor and Emma Asakura also scanlated doujinshi. Herchuckness also edited and typeset doujinshi.
The website also hosted Naruto fanfic and some doujinshi of different fandoms, namely Death Note, Saiyuki, Hikaru no go, Bus Gamer, Wild Adapter and Araiso Executive Committee. The main naruto pairings were SasuNaru, ItaSasu and KakaIru.
While most of the starting content was yaoi, the project later branched out into hentai and BL. The PG-13 content was hosted on an spin-off website called Absolute Gravity. This website also hosted Naruto manga scanlations[1]. The objective of such a project, when other scanlators were already working on the same, was to provide more accurate translations of the manga.
The welcome message of the website was the following: Welcome to Zettai Hentai, a Naruto-centric collection of erotic anime-related stories and images. Use the links above to navigate to the good stuff. This site is intended for people 18 and over, so if you're not that old yet (or are easily offended) you'd better turn around right now. You've been warned[2].
herchuckness explained the name of the group in the About page: It's Japanese, like so many cool things are these days. Zettai: absolute, definitely; hentai: pervert, perverted. So, zettai hentai is something along the lines of absolute pervert, or definitely perverted. I heard this phrase in an early episode of Inuyasha; Sango was describing Miroku the deviant monk. Inuyasha stuff is what this site began with, but ninjas have taken over datte bayo! Because of my ninja obsession it's become more "zettai yaoi" than zettai hentai, hopefully I'll get more hetero stuff for the galleries soon[3].
The website closed on January 2007 with the following message:
closed.I'm grateful for all the people I've met and things I've learned because of zettai hentai. I never imagined it would be such a life-altering thing, it amazes me even now. But all good things must come to an end, as they say, and after considering it for the past year I've come to realize that it's become more of a chore than a fun hobby, so it's time to move on.
