Yuri Day (百合の日) takes place on June 25 in Japan and celebrates yuri works. The day came to be as Japanses yuri fans noted that June 25 was the assigned day for the lily, which is where yuri (百合 lit. lily) gets its name from. While initially only celebrated in Japanese fandoms by sharing art, fics, recommendations and photos of personal yuri collections, it went on to become popular worldwide. It is now often used by publishers to have sales for yuri manga and games.[1][2]
