Quotes

Why We Vid

[Lovingjackdawson]: I vid because it it's a creative outlet. I guess I think a lot of us can say that

[LyraCullenz ]: I love vidding but I believe I do it because it's a way to show myself to the world, to show myself to other people that like vidding, other people that like my videos

[J2ThePowerOf3]: I really like putting visuals to music and I think it enhances both the music and then the music enhances the visuals. Which it's just a really cool combo I think and I really enjoy seeing them and putting it down exactly as I see it. It's just like pure inspiration and creation

Vidding Process

[J2ThePowerOf3]: My vidding process is I usually I'm always listening to music whether it's on my iPod or in the car. A lot of times in the car. And depending on what show and watching at the time it'll kind of influence what visuals I'm giving while I'm listen to the lyrics and all the beats. And then I'll put the coloring on and then I'll just go to the editing. I usually kind of edit out of order. I don't edit in a linear way on the timeline just because you got to go where you're most inspired first and then fill in the rest later. Otherwise I'll lose my inspiration and that's the worst that happens to me a lot

Tools

[Mitsucat2010]I started back in 2004 because I saw a fan video and I thought that was really cool ...I...Google'd how to do it and figured it out. I used wWindows Movie Maker first and then Sony Vegas and then last year I used Final Cut.

[J2ThePowerOf3]I started vidding when I was about 16. I was in love with the show Roswell and I saw video on YouTube and I was like what is this and I thought it was really neat to see a music video out of a show that you can just a regular person made....I thought that was really neat and then I got in love with the show Smallville. Listening to my iPod every day on the way to school and just picturing everything in relation to the show and I was like well I need to make something. So I downloaded all these awful quality episodes and used Windows Movie Maker and made my very first Smallville video and that was how I got into vidding

Creativity

[Mitsucat2010] I like to make alternate universe videos. Which is a little bit different than fan videos. alternate universe is where you take clips of movies and TV shows but they're all from different ones like say you cast your own characters and for a storyline that you have in your head...so you would use a more finished shows or movies like that actor is in then and try to manipulate the scenes to make it seem like it's from one movie or TV show... I want to make films and in some sort of way I kind of get to practice what kind of films I want to make
