Hi! I am Ian McLean, aka Therin of Andor, an Australian "Star Trek" fan since December 1979, due to "Star Trek: The Motion Picture", still my favourite movie of all time (but the 2009 movie came close). I spent 1980 catching up on TOS episodes (we only had about eight episodes repeated in prime time when colour TV came to Sydney, Australia, in 1975) and remembering TAS episodes on weekday breakfast TV (which had originally aired in b/w on Saturday mornings). I was very fortunate that Sydney fans had access to Bob Johnson's Star Trek Marathons, which fostered the growth of local fannish interaction twelve times a year! I was President of Astrex from 1984-1992, and saw the club grow from 222 members to over 1000 in that time.

I have recently retired from my job as a primary school teacher-librarian (ie. elementary school librarian) and "Fanlore" is providing a great distraction from all the other things I'm supposed to be doing. I have lots of reference materials, zine contents pages and photos in storage that will continue to provide heaps of additions and corrections here when they emerge from the piles in my garage! Maybe you spotted my Andorian alter ego in a frame on the wall of Guinan's "10 Forward Avenue" bar in Seasons Two and Three of "Star Trek: Picard"? So exciting. Therin is now canon! Therin of Andor (talk) 04:22, 8 October 2023 (UTC)
