The Devil Wars Prada Fans is a Livejournal community started by mia_liz for fannish discussions and fanworks about The Devil Wears Prada books and film adaptation. The last post to the community was in October 2021, but the community remains live to date.

Welcome to LJ's The Devil Wears Prada community for fans of the novel by Lauren Weisberger, and the movie starring Meryl Streep & Anne Hathaway. Feel free to jump in - we love all sorts of discussion and fanworks about the film, novel, actors and author of TDWP.

Rules

The rules are pretty basic.

- No more than four (4) icons should be outside of an LJ cut. One one preview image of any sort of larger image etc should be posted outside of a cut. Please remember that graphics stretch out friends pages and are hellish for dial-up or slower connections.

- No unrelated posts - such as memes or surveys - should be posted to this community . - Please, please do not hard-code the colour/font/size of your fic. It messes up the community layout, friends list and - most of all - puts off potential readers.

- Each user may advertise any related communities, , but please do not spam the community. If, at anytime, a mod thinks you have posted anything closely resembling spam, expect a PM.

- No actor!fic, no Real-Person-Fic. There are other communities for those types of stories.

There were also additional rules around posting fanworks.

Title: Every fic needs to have a title, even if it's just "Untitled."

Rating: Every fic needs to have a rating and, if graphic rape or physical abuse is present in the fic, a warning. This is especially important because some people don't like smut or graphic scenes of abuse.

Pairing: Every fic should list a pairing. If the pairing in your fic is a surprise, you need state that instead.

Prompt(s):(optional) Not every fic comes from a prompt, but if you're using a prompt someone has taken the time to suggest, you need to give them credit.

Length/Word Count: (optional) This option is generally used when someone writes a drabble, but if you wish to include it, by all means.

Summary: A fic should have a summary. It doesn't have to be terribly long, but it's nice to let people know what they'll be reading.

Disclaimer: This is especially important as I'm sure none of us own or have rights to The Devil Wears Prada or any of its characters. So please make sure your fic has a disclaimer.

A/N: This is generally where people thank their beta and say anything else they might want readers to know.

All of this information should be outside of the cut. Fics should be underneath a cut, at least if you're posting them directly to the community. All chapters need to have all of this information posted. This is especially important if stories are unfinished and chapters are being posted at random. It makes it easier for people that haven't been reading your story prior to the updated chapter to see what it's about. This is the community standard posting rule. If there's something else you want to add(i.e. a separate beta category), feel free, but please refrain from disregarding any that I have listed.

ETA: All fics that are directly posted to the community in chapters, need to have a link to the previous part. I can't tell you what to do with your own journal, but making your fics easier to navigate is just a common courtesy to your readers.
