Help, please, from a Gardener! I accidentally created this page with lowercase letters, when the title should be all uppercase (OVA) and thus it needs to be moved. Branch 17:55, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Citations and Future Expansion

while the two sentences marked with citation needed aren't necessarily false, i wouldn't characterize them as indicative of the whole genre which (prior to the early 2000s, anyway) mainly consisted of things that weren't selling merchandise and were explicitly being created in a format that was between then then-common 26-episode season and a single television movie. also the statement about BL isn't as true anymore with the trend toward very mainstream BL such as Yuri on Ice in the 2010s. these statements may be better off in the newly created history section, which is in need of expansion. the main problem is that Wikipedia:Original Video Animation seems to mostly consist of original research, and while i don't necessarily doubt that research i don't have any sources backing it up and i don't necessarily know where to go for information otherwise. the relegation of ova to omake content on DVD and Blu-ray releases is more well-documented, i just don't necessarily have sources on that beyond personal observation.

basically, the history section needs expanding but i'm not really the one who's able to do it and i don't really want to research this in japanese blind. i could, i just don't like reading in japanese. Flyingthesky (talk) 20:10, 7 October 2019 (UTC)
