I'm curious about this sort of page. [Fanlore Is Not] says "Fanlore is not an archive for your fanworks". Obviously this page is not actually an archive, but a complete listing of fanworks by an author seems to be straddling the line. I'd like some clarification on this. --Kyuuketsukirui 15:18, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Okay, here comes: generally, if the list is just duplicating, like this, what we call "pre-existing material", so here, a list of titles and links from the author's website, then we'd simply prefer one link back to there (our impression is that even if every story is listed on the page, which makes sense, one link should suffice since they all live in the same general location).
But. We're not discouraging such a page entirely, as it doesn't violate the "Fanlore is not an archive" point, and because in the future it may be useful/worthwhile material to have for the documentation of a given fan. Say that in 20 years Icarus, who changed fandom, is no longer around, and her website has disappeared also, then that page will be a useful page. At that moment, of course, it won't be duplicating existing work anymore, since the website index will no longer exist. Does that help?--anatsuno 22:51, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
