Hufflepuff

Is this really true with the lack of House-identification? I've seen Hufflepuff pride icons, crafts for clothing in Hufflepuff colors and everything. (There are 1,700 google hits for "Hufflepuff pride" compared to 1,020 for "Ravenclaw pride" for example.) Also I've seen in plenty of fanfic the theme that Hufflepuff is the down-to-earth house that actually gets things done and such. --Ratcreature 20:37, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

I have seen this, too. Can't remember where....--Æthel 18:56, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

Crossovers

Urg, I really shouldn't edit when I'm so tired. I got a little overzealous and added a bunch of HP crossovers without really realizing what page is this, and now I'm not really sure what should go here. Does it make sense to include fanworks where characters from other fandom attend Hogwarts, as is mentioned earlier in the article? We're talking fanworks that specifically pertain to Houses, right? I'll go clean up after myself... --sparc 06:45, 6 July 2011 (UTC)

I moved some to the Hogwarts page where they seemed more appropriate. And now I'm going to bed x) --sparc 06:53, 6 July 2011 (UTC)

Page Title

Would "Hogwarts Houses" be a more straightforward title for this page? --caes (talk) 21:07, 16 May 2020 (UTC)

-> Then we would have to create a separate page for the Ilvermory Houses and possibly the fanon/parody houses. -- error_cascade
Makes sense to me. I think the fanon houses section should stay (Sparklypoo is explicitly a Hogwarts house). The Ilvermorny section is already basically reproduced on the Ilvermorny page. --sparc 23:02, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
Yeah, I think it's a yes to renaming as Hogwarts Houses. -- error-cascade

Separate Page for the Four Houses

IDK, I feel like it would be reasonable to have a page for each Hogwarts house instead of redirecting to this page (but still keep this page as an overview), if only because it would help sort the different metas and fanworks. (There's so many edits, playlists, etc. associated with each house)

Thoughts? -- error_cascade

Well, if there is enough material, there can be as many pages as needed. I Would suggest adding examples, meta discussions, fanon about the houses, etc. before deciding on separate pages for each house, but renaming the page to Hogwarts Houses makes sense to me. The Hogwarts page links to this page under the headline "Hogwarts Houses" and the current page name suggest that it could include stories like for example House Proud, which is about the house Harry inherits and wizarding house in general (their homes), which has nothing to do with Hogwarts. If it's needed, Ilvermorny houses could have a separate page, that would be linked under "related terms". However, as the page says that Ilvermorny houses feature prominently in Fantastic Beasts, "Houses (Harry Potter)" doesn't really fit any better than Hogwarts Houses. If there isn't anything specifically fannish to say about these houses, I wouldn't bother with a separate page. I hope that helps. --Doro (talk) 09:11, 17 May 2020 (UTC)
That sound reasonable. Putting the Ilvermorny Houses on a separate page wouldn't be terribly hard and it would improve overall clarity.
I do think a separate page for the Houses would work because there's a lot of House related fanworks and fanon on tumblr. -- error_cascade
