Talk:Heroes

Should we list all the stuff that contains a word in the disambiguation, like it is done here? Earlier today I made the one for Beginnings and only listed titles that started with the word, not all the others, like Shadowed Beginnings - Carol Maschke, or Beyond Beginnings - Linda B. (although seriously I had the hardest time finding that latter page again, because it is not given as search result for "Beyond"; actually nothing is given for beyond?? even though a full 17 articles start with "Beyond" this search engine is broken)--Ratcreature 21:07, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

I probably overdid it with this page, but since the wiki search is so weird, and people tend to just type in a key word and hit Enter (rather than knowing to hit "search" specifically), I figured I should add anything that people might search for under "Heroes". We could always sort of split things into a main section and a "or possibly you were looking for one of these related terms" for the more loosely connected titles?
And... wtf is up with that "beyond" search, I just tried it too. I know the wiki won't search for three letters, but that's six! That's nuts. I think it's ignoring prepositions - I can't get any results for "after", or "below", or "under"... wow. --Arduinna 21:14, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
IDEK what's up with this search. I think it is the worst I've ever used regularly. If we adopt an overkill policy, this page should probably also link to Hero Bashing as that might be something you look for by typing "heroes" but the search engine will only give it for "hero"--Ratcreature 21:19, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
I did some hunting, and it looks like we're not the only ones who have a problem with it. But there's an extension that may help: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:SphinxSearch -- I'll drop a note to the wiki admins about it. Re: Hero Bashing, oh, good call. Except now I'm wondering if the base redirect page should be "Hero" or "Heroes". I think Heroes gets used more often, but the singular may be more intuitive... --Arduinna 01:33, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
