Talk:Fanworker

Not sure if this is worth cluttering up the page with, but I looked at fail_fandomanon's dememe search for some numbers and got: 97 results for "fanworker" and 6 results for "fanworkers", nearly all news updates for the DC Universe Big Bang. "fan creator" returns 38 results, "fan creators" returns 275, "fanwork creator" returns 88, and "fanwork creators" returns 71, on a variety of topics. Are there other synonyms for this, or other communities where the term "fanworker" is used? I tried searching for it on tumblr, but got results containing the word "fanworks". Without the context of a fanwork challenge, I would find this term confusing because it looks like a compound of "fan" and "worker", so I'd be picturing fans working in a quarry (mining for tropes?) or more likely setting up chairs at a convention.--aethel (talk) 23:05, 14 January 2023 (UTC)
