Smile Precure! ran from 2012 to 2013, and was part of the seventh generation of Precure. It ran for 48 episodes, with the dub (called Glitter Force) running 40 episodes on Netflix from 2015. Smile's motifs are fairytales and happiness. This season is unique for not including a midseason Cure.

Another popular ship includes Cure Beauty/Joker, which is controversial due to the toxic nature of their in-canon relationship. Episode 43, titled "Abroad Decision" / "Reika's Path! I will Study Overseas!!", features close interaction of these two characters, with Joker manipulating Cure Beauty into a weakened state in an attempt to kill her.
