Reverse Robins is a Batfamily trope in which the Batkids join the family in a reverse order. This can include changes in alias, dynamics, and more, but the characters generally retain the same personalities and parentage.

Development
A Tumblr post in April 2012 proposed a "Batkids reverse order" AU. It incorporated Damian, Stephanie, Cassandra, Tim, Jason, and finally Dick.[1]
One of the first traceable appearances on AO3 is from 2012, in a TimKon fic labeled as a Robin Reversal AU. The author stated that they had been reading other age reversal fics and were inspired.[2] Another fic, posted a month earlier, provided a link to the above Tumblr post as inspiration.[3]
It appeared in 2015 as "BatClan Age Reverse" in a Teen Titans series of some popularity.[4] It was inspired by Young Justice fics with the same premise.
The name "Reverse Robins" began appearing in 2016.[5] This was also around the same time that the Reverse!BatFamily community was created on Fanfiction.net.[6]
Examples of similar concepts predating April 2012 include the following:
- a fic in which Dick is the youngest of six foster children, most of whom are original characters (with Barbara as an exception) [June 2011]
- a prompt in yj_anon_meme which features Jason as Dick's older brother and the subsequent fill [October 2011]
- a fic in which Jason becomes Red Hood before Dick joins the family [February 2012]
- a one-shot collection in which Dick is the younger brother to Tim, Damian, Jason, and Terry [March 2012]
