Peter Pan is a character from Once Upon A Time. He is loosely based on Peter Pan (character) of the story Peter Pan.

Peter Pan became a very popular character in Season 3, when he was finally revealed to the viewers, although he had made appearances in fanworks prior to S3. However, unlike most depictions of Peter Pan, this version of him is portrayed as evil which caused some fans to love it and others to dislike it.
Another controversy between fans appeared when the episode 8 of the third season aired, and it was revealed Peter Pan was in fact a man named Malcolm, the father of Rumplestiltskin, who abandoned him in return for eternal youth in Neverland and the ability to fly again. This revelation led to the emergence of a new tag in AO3 "Peter Pan is not Rumplestiltskin | Mr Gold's father" and fans choosing to create Alternate Universe works where the character remains truer to his original creation, a boy who never grew up.
Most works depicting romance between Peter Pan and another character in Storybrooke also includes him coming back to life (Resurrection tag or Temporary Character Death), or never being killed at all.
