Outer Wilds is a 2019 game developed by Mobius Digital and published by Annapurna Interactive. It is a first-person view adventure game with focus on exploration and mystery-solving, as the player controls a rookie astronaut who explores their solar system and uncovers facts about the mysterious alien Nomai who inhabited the system long before the player character's people.

History

It received high praise from both industry reporters and players. It was named "Game of the Year 2019" by Giant Bomb, Polygon, Eurogamer, and The Guardian.[1]

Canon

The game is about exploring the various planets, astronomical bodies, and spacecraft of a solar system and uncovering the history and records of the Nomai, a vanished alien species who inhabited this solar system long before the protagonist's species.
